Apple (AAPL) reclaims most valuable company title from Nvidia amid AI sell-off

A rotation out of AI-exposed names handed Apple (AAPL) back the title of world's most valuable publicly traded company, with Nvidia (NVDA) bearing the weight of the sell-off.

The iPhone maker's shares sidestepped the pressure that cut into the chipmaker's valuation, reopening a gap that had narrowed during Nvidia's extended run.

Where the two names trade from here depends on the duration of the AI-sector rotation still in progress.

The title changes hands Nvidia had taken the most-valuable-company crown from Apple on the strength of an AI-driven advance that pushed its market capitalization ahead of the iPhone maker's.
