Curaleaf's unsolicited $4-per-share cash-and-stock bid for Aurora Cannabis (ACB) landed on Aug. 11, after private acquisition talks between the two companies broke down and the U.S.
multi-state operator said it would take the proposal directly to Aurora shareholders. Curaleaf (CURLF) formed a special committee to review the offer before that approach.
Aurora's board has not accepted the terms, and the next definable event is a formal response from ACB's directors. Aurora shares were trading around $3.48 at the time of the source report, a discount to the proposed $4.
Even with the session move, ACB is still down roughly 10% from the start of the year. Curaleaf shares ended Tuesday about 6% higher. The strategic logic Curaleaf offered is specific.
