Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) trades near $78,565, requiring an 11.4% increase to reach the $87,500 level where it began 2026.
The coin has already rebounded 23% from its August 8 low, a move more than double the current gap to that target.
The path to $87,500 faces resistance near $80,500, a level Bitcoin has failed to close above twice this month. The asset reached a recovery high of $82,283 on September 3 before sellers pushed it back under $80,000.
If the current support near $78,000 fails, the next support level sits at $77,200. The target remains roughly 37% below the all-time high of $126,198 set in October 2025. Macro conditions present the primary obstacle.
