DoorDash sent a warning to Bay Area restaurants this August, stating that some businesses had been listed on a rival platform without their consent.
The email, described as a form letter, was distributed to a group of dining establishments in the region.
Copies of the message were reviewed by The Verge, which reported that the text indicated DoorDash had received reports from "several partners" regarding the unauthorized additions.
The recipient platform, Bites, is a ten-person startup currently operating in a pre-seed stage. Its footprint is limited to approximately 300 signed-up restaurants within the Bay Area.
