Suozzi draws line on Democratic left, warns party the DSA problem will not stay in deep-blue seats

DSA-linked candidates have ousted incumbent House progressives in primary elections in New York and Colorado, and the fallout is pulling one of the most exposed swing-seat Democrats into direct confrontation with his party's left flank.

Tom Suozzi, D-N.Y., is urging fellow Democrats to engage the Democratic Socialists of America head-on rather than treat the group's primary wins as a niche problem confined to reliably blue districts.

His November race against Trump-endorsed Republican Mike LiPetri, in a Long Island district the president carried in 2024, makes the argument concrete.
