Julian Mobley, a 41-year-old janitor for the Chicago Transit Authority, was stabbed and killed at the Damen Green Line station by Chevazz Campbell, 37, who authorities said was on electronic monitoring at the time.
The attack occurred just before 3 p.m. on Thursday, according to FOX 32 Chicago. Campbell is accused of entering the station through the fare gate without paying, which led to an argument with Mobley.
Prosecutors alleged that Campbell sprayed Mobley in the face with mace twice before stabbing him in the neck.
Fox News Digital reports that Chicago Police said Campbell allegedly robbed the victim before being taken into custody hours later.
