WTI Tops $95.50 After White House Rejects Iran Talks Proposal West Texas Intermediate crude settled above $95.50 a barrel on Wednesday after the White House publicly rejected a diplomatic framework put forward by Iran.
The benchmark touched its highest mark in more than a month during the session. Per diplomatic sources cited in the report, Tehran had floated a proposal covering de-escalation steps and a renewed nuclear track.
President Donald Trump declined the offer, calling the terms unacceptable. The rejection raised the prospect of further U.S. sanctions and stepped-up military posture near the Strait of Hormuz.
Roughly 20% of global seaborne oil moves through that waterway. Brent crude, the international benchmark, climbed above $100 a barrel on the same headline.
