Less than 48 hours before the New England Patriots departed for the regular-season opener at Seattle on Wednesday evening, Christian Gonzalez agreed to a four-year extension worth $135 million, including $102 million in guaranteed money, at $33.75 million per season.
Gonzalez confirmed the deal and its figures on Instagram, and the annual average makes him the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history.
