CLARITY Act fails 49-50 in Senate cloture vote, XRP drops 7.98% to $1.29

The CLARITY Act failed its Senate cloture vote on September 15 by 49 to 50, eleven short of the 60 needed for debate to open, sending $XRP down 7.98% to $1.29 among the four major coins.

$ETH fell 3.15% to $2,404, $SOL dropped 3.67% to $97.23, and $BTC declined 1.42% to $75,924, while Coinbase fell roughly 8% and Circle dropped about 11%, harder than any of the coins.

Senator Thom Tillis filed a motion to reconsider at 3:01 p.m. the same day, and an SEC roundtable on 24/7 trading is scheduled for September 17.

How the vote collapsed Seven Democratic senators who helped draft the bill, including Kirsten Gillibrand, Mark Warner, Cory Booker, Raphael Warnock, Ruben Gallego, Angela Alsobrooks, and Catherine Cortez Masto, voted against it anyway.
