A board seat at Inspire Medical Systems (NYSE: INSP) is in focus after the company's directors named Michael H. Carrel, the sitting president and chief executive of AtriCure, Inc.
(NASDAQ: ATRC), as a Class III director on July 20, 2026. His term runs through the 2027 Annual Meeting of Stockholders, at which point his seat comes up for renewal.
Carrel's background and committee assignments Carrel, age 55, joined the Inspire board with assignments to two committees: Organization and Compensation, and Quality, Product Supply and Technology.
The Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee recommended the appointment. His most visible current role is at AtriCure, where he has served as president, CEO and director since November 2012.
