Corrections Policy
We fix mistakes in the open. Here is the standard we hold the desk to, how to flag an error, and how a corrected story is marked.

Our standard
MarketPR moves at wire speed, and that means we will sometimes get something wrong. When we do, we fix it openly. We do not quietly edit a published story to erase an error, and we do not let a mistake stand because correcting it is inconvenient. Accuracy is the whole point of the masthead, and a clear correction is part of being accurate.
What we correct
We correct errors of fact — a wrong figure, a misstated name, a misattributed quote, a date that doesn't hold up. We also clarify wording that, while not strictly wrong, could mislead a careful reader. Differences of opinion or interpretation are not corrections; if you think our judgement was off, we welcome the argument, but it is handled separately from the factual record.
How to request a correction
If you spot an error, tell us. Reach the desk through our contact page, mark the message for the standards editor, and point us to the specific line, the figure or quote in question, and ideally the source that shows the correct version. The more precise you are, the faster we can check it and act.
How corrections are marked
When we change a published story for accuracy, we say so on the story itself. A correction note records what was wrong, what it now reads, and the date of the change, so the record is transparent rather than rewritten. Minor typo fixes that don't change meaning may be made without a note; anything that touches a fact carries one.
Contact
Standards and corrections are overseen by our standards editor. Use the contact page to flag an error or to ask how a past correction was handled. We take the record seriously and answer every credible report.
