U.S. equity futures are broadly in the green before the opening bell, with the Nasdaq 100 contract running well ahead of the other major benchmarks. Nasdaq 100 futures are up 1.2%, S&P 500 E-mini futures are up 0.45%, and Dow futures are adding 0.5%. The spread across the three contracts is the defining feature of the current pre-market setup.

The spread between contracts

The Nasdaq 100 futures advance of 1.2% is more than double the S&P 500 E-mini move of 0.45%, and it runs 70 basis points ahead of Dow futures at 0.5%. The S&P 500 E-mini and Dow contracts are moving in near lockstep, within 5 basis points of each other.

All three benchmarks are in positive territory. The pre-market breadth is constructive on that count. The Nasdaq 100 is simply taking the bulk of the bid, pulling away from the other two contracts by a notable margin in the pre-session window.

What to watch

The session open is the next confirmable read: whether the cash equity markets confirm or fade the futures bid across all three contracts. No specific catalyst is identified in the current setup. The Nasdaq 100's 1.2% pre-market print is the level to track when regular trading begins.
