Patrick Clancy remarried and relocated as Lindsay Clancy's murder trial moves to defense

Patrick Clancy has quietly built a new life in New York City since the January 2023 deaths of his three children in Duxbury, Massachusetts, public records show. His ex-wife, Lindsay Clancy, 36, is now in the defense phase of her murder trial, facing three counts of first-degree murder in the stranglings of Cora, Dawson, and Callan, none older than six.

The prosecution rested Monday morning. Defense attorney Kevin Reddington has opened by arguing Lindsay Clancy was in the grip of postpartum psychosis at the time of the killings.

Patrick Clancy's life after Duxbury

Patrick Clancy, a business applications sales executive at Microsoft, moved to New York City in spring 2023, months after the deaths. He filed for divorce in February 2024 and married Dr. Rachel Danis in a Central Park ceremony in spring 2026, according to public records obtained by the New York Post. Danis reportedly moved into Patrick's Upper East Side apartment in 2025. TMZ reported the couple was seen together on Aug. 13 at a Manhattan apartment. Men's Journal attributed their relationship in part to a shared interest in hiking and fitness.

Reddington acknowledged the remarriage from the courtroom, saying Patrick "suffered one of the worst tragedies that anyone could ever suffer" and is "trying hard to move on with his life."

Patrick Clancy remained composed on the stand, though he struggled to hold back tears when describing his children. Cora, he said, was "into princesses" and "liked taking care of people." Dawson was drawn to the television show Paw Patrol and to firefighters and trucks. Callan, the youngest, "was just a happy baby."

What to watch in the defense case

Patrick Clancy's mother, Susan Clancy, testified for the defense. Speaking to Fox News Digital, criminal defense attorney Donna Rotunno called it a notable show of humanity that Patrick's own mother expressed sympathy toward Lindsay Clancy in open court.

On Thursday, Sheila Cavanaugh, a board-certified chaplain at Brigham and Women's Hospital, testified that when she visited Lindsay Clancy on Jan. 31, 2023, Lindsay told her, "I am so glad my children are safe." Cavanaugh said she responded that the children were safe in heaven, and the two prayed together. Judge William Sullivan ended the session early that day after Cavanaugh's testimony; jurors returned Friday.

Patrick Clancy and family members have also founded the Heard Foundation, dedicated to perinatal mental health awareness, in memory of Cora, Dawson, and Callan. Shortly after the deaths in January 2023, Patrick wrote on a GoFundMe page asking people to forgive Lindsay, describing her as "generously loving and caring toward everyone."
