Singer Sawyer Hill has canceled his current tour following a fatal accident involving his tour bus near the Colorado-Wyoming border. The incident, which occurred in the middle of the night, resulted in the death of the bus driver and injuries to several members of the band and crew. Hill announced the cancellation on Instagram on October 14, stating that after careful consideration, he determined there was no viable path to continuing the "Everybody's Home, Nobody's Happy" tour. The priority for the band and crew, he said, is now processing and healing.

The driver, identified by a family member as David "RollingCloud" Jackson, died at the scene. According to a family member, Jackson suffered a medical emergency while driving, which caused him to cross three lanes of traffic before the bus rolled. The family stated that an autopsy revealed Jackson had already passed away before the crash occurred. When paramedics arrived, they pronounced him dead on arrival. The family noted that they were unaware before his death that he suffered from atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and epilepsy, though the exact medical emergency remains unknown.

Hill described the event as terrifying for everyone on board and expressed devastation over the loss of his driver. He noted that the cause of the crash is still under investigation and that further details cannot be shared out of respect for that process and for Jackson's family. Despite the tragedy, Hill confirmed that all band members aboard the bus survived. The group is working on rescheduling tour dates, although refunds are available for those who purchased tickets.

Jackson was a father of four and a grandfather of three who lived in Minnesota. His family is currently seeking donations to transport his body from Wyoming back to Minnesota. In a statement accompanying a fundraising page, a family member described Jackson as a significant part of the music industry who was deeply connected to the community he served through his work and travels. She emphasized that there was no warning or time to prepare for his death.

The cancellation has drawn responses from colleagues and fans. Fellow musician Lucy Levinsohn Berman commented on Hill's post, recalling how Jackson had personally housed and fed her band during a previous tour. She described him as a pillar of the music community and expressed sadness that his journey ended during this tour. Other followers shared their condolences, with one noting that he had toured with Jackson and remembered him as a beautiful soul. Hill closed his initial message by thanking fans for their understanding and support during this difficult time.
