CACI International Inc (NYSE: CACI) raised its fiscal year 2027 guidance for revenue, adjusted net income, and adjusted earnings per share after reporting first-quarter results. The company posted revenues of $2.5 billion, an 8.2% increase year over year, and net income of $130.4 million. Diluted earnings per share rose 3.7% to $5.84, while adjusted diluted earnings per share increased 11.8% to $7.66.
The growth in income from operations was driven by higher revenues and gross profit. EBITDA climbed 22.4% to $328.8 million, resulting in a margin of 13.3%. However, free cash flow decreased, and net cash provided by operating activities excluding the Master Accounts Receivable Purchase Agreement fell, primarily due to higher working capital requirements.
Contract awards in the quarter totaled $4.8 billion, producing a book-to-bill ratio of 2.0x. Approximately 61% of these awards were for new business to CACI. Total backlog stood at $34.0 billion as of September 30, 2026, up 0.3% from the prior year, while funded backlog increased 14.8% to $6.2 billion.
Notable contract awards included a one-year agreement with four option periods for U.S. Central Command, with a ceiling of $1.5 billion of which CACI recognized $1.2 billion based on current requirements. The company also secured a five-year task order worth up to $1.6 billion for the U.S. Army Special Operations Command, recognizing $1.2 billion in award and backlog value. Other awards included a five-year task order valued at up to $281 million for the U.S. Navy’s Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane and a four-year task order valued at up to $146 million for the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division.
John Mengucci, CACI President and Chief Executive Officer, stated that the results represent a strong start to fiscal year 2027, highlighted by revenue and EBITDA growth and healthy free cash flow. He noted that the company’s mission proximity and software-defined approach continue to drive performance, supporting the decision to raise the fiscal year 2027 revenue and earnings profit outlook while reaffirming guidance for other financial metrics.
