Crypto ETF Inflows Reach $6.8B Over Six Weeks
Crypto exchange-traded funds have absorbed $6.8 billion in net inflows over six consecutive weeks, marking the strongest sustained demand in nearly a year. The recent flow includes $1.3 billion in the final week, following a $3.3 billion surge the week prior. This accumulation has pushed the four-week average inflow to approximately $1.5 billion, the highest level recorded since November 2025.
BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) has driven the majority of this capital. The fund captured roughly $3.4 billion during the six-week period, representing about half of the total industry inflows. The consistency of these positive weeks suggests the rebound is not reliant on isolated trading spikes but reflects a broader shift in institutional positioning.
Despite the strong ETF trends, underlying price action shows mixed signals. Bitcoin is trading near $78,000 after recovering from its 2026 lows, having found support in the $75,668 to $76,279 region. The asset has moved above its 100-hour moving average near $77,290 and is currently testing the 200-hour average around $78,151. A sustained break above this resistance could direct attention back to last week's highs between $79,850 and $80,537.
Flow data reveals a potential rotation within the sector. While US spot Bitcoin ETFs recently recorded four consecutive days of outflows totaling $462.7 million, Ethereum ETFs attracted $216.4 million in a single session last week. BlackRock's ETHA fund accounted for $148.8 million of that Ethereum inflow. This divergence raises questions about whether institutional capital is shifting from Bitcoin to ETH, though price action has not yet confirmed a definitive trend change.
Ethereum experienced a sharp spike last week, rising from approximately $2,403 to $2,666, a gain of roughly 7.8%, before giving back much of the progress. The token is now trading near its converged 100- and 200-hour moving averages at $2,494 to $2,497. Breaking above the $2,531 to $2,567 resistance zone would be required to strengthen the case for further upside.
Market structure indicators suggest increasing complexity in supply and demand dynamics. Bitcoin reserves on Binance have reportedly climbed to their highest level of 2026, increasing the volume of BTC potentially available for sale. Additionally, leveraged positioning has played a larger role in recent price movements, which may heighten vulnerability to liquidations if momentum reverses.
The primary question for the coming period is whether the current inflow momentum can persist as Bitcoin approaches the psychologically significant $80,000 level. If institutional demand holds firm against rising exchange reserves and leveraged risk, the latest recovery may develop into a broader rally; otherwise, price action could stall near current resistance levels.
