MindWalk Holdings Corp. reported a commercial launch for its ReefIQ data platform, marking a strategic shift toward recurring platform-based revenues. In its first quarter FY27 report, the company stated that this pivot supports its transition away from discrete project-based models.
The company posted C$3.8 million in revenue for the period, a 21.3% increase compared to the same period last year. Gross profit rose 47.1% year-over-year to C$2.2 million, expanding gross margins from 48.3% in Q1 FY26 to 58.6% in the reported quarter. MindWalk attributed the margin improvement to the scaling of its platform operations.
The ReefIQ launch includes a production deployment using AMD Instinct GPUs, developed in collaboration with AMD and Vultr. According to MindWalk, this infrastructure expands compute capacity and could lower the cost of onboarding enterprise clients. The company is currently negotiating with various large players in the pharmaceutical market for enterprise-level deployment of ReefIQ.
Commercial pipeline composition has shifted significantly. Roughly 80% of the company's pipeline by value now consists of partnership-structured engagements rather than discrete projects. This change drove higher sales and marketing spend during the quarter. Despite increased spending, operating cash burn improved slightly, with the company using C$4 million in net cash for operating activities compared to C$4.2 million in the same period last year.
MindWalk secured a binding commitment for a US$30 million senior unsecured revolving credit facility at a fixed 7.00% rate. The term sheet includes no warrants, conversion options, financial maintenance covenants, or asset pledges, though a definitive credit agreement remains to be negotiated and closed.
Profitability metrics deteriorated despite revenue growth. Operating losses increased by 47% year-over-year to C$6.13 million, up from C$4.16 million in Q1 FY26. The net loss from continuing operations widened to $6.1 million, or $0.13 per share, compared to $4.1 million, or $0.09 per share, in the prior year period. Adjusted EBITDA from continuing operations also worsened, moving from negative C$3.7 million last year to negative C$5.1 million in the reported quarter.
Institutional ownership remains low. Data from Insider Monkey shows that only two hedge funds held positions in the stock by the end of the second quarter in 2026, down from three funds in the previous quarter. Short interest stands at 1.66%. Ingalls & Snyder is the largest institutional investor, holding 3.04 million shares or 6.50% of outstanding shares, while Susquehanna International Group holds 1.11%.
