Former "Wheel of Fortune" host Pat Sajak made a rare public appearance in Los Angeles, attending the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony honoring Air Supply members Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock. The 79-year-old was photographed on Hollywood Boulevard wearing a gray suit and pink shirt, where he posed with the musicians and delivered a speech in their honor.

Sajak used the platform to reflect on the duo's enduring career, noting that he understands the challenge of not wearing out one's welcome. He pointed out that Russell and Hitchcock have been active for over 50 years, continuing to entertain fans and fill sold-out venues globally. In a humorous aside, Sajak joked that he knows a thing or two about longevity because he hosted his own show for over 40 years. He also shared a fabricated anecdote about planning to get a large Air Supply logo tattooed on his chest but deciding against it because it would compete with his nipple ring, asking the audience to pause while they processed the mental image.

The appearance marks a notable moment for Sajak following his retirement from "Wheel of Fortune" in 2024, when he passed the hosting duties to Ryan Seacrest. Sajak hosted the daytime version of the show from 1981 to 1989 and the nighttime version from 1983 until his departure. He took over from Chuck Woolery, who left the program in 1981.

Since leaving the game show, Sajak has focused on theater and personal projects. He starred in the play "Prescription: Murder," which ran from July 31 to August 10, 2025, at The Hawaii Theatre in Honolulu. In June of that year, he shared a video with fans showing himself walking poolside in Hawaii, joking that he had moved to Montana and needed to attend to his cattle. The clip addressed questions from followers regarding his well-being, with Sajak stating that he was enjoying life.

Sajak has previously discussed his initial hesitation about hosting "Wheel of Fortune." In an Instagram video shared in June 2024, he recounted how he almost turned down the role when it was first offered. He described the local television environment in Los Angeles as a nightly audition, with producers watching at home. He recalled that when asked if he was interested in hosting after seven years on NBC, his first thought was that the three R's in the title were not exactly a career mover.
