PI cites foreign knives in Great Wolf Lodge murder as premeditation evidence
Private investigator Rod Devine argues that knives recovered at the Great Wolf Lodge in Pennsylvania were not supplied by the resort, suggesting the killings may have been premeditated. Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, faces two counts of criminal homicide for stabbing her husband, Charles "Chaz," and their 3-year-old son, Tristan, to death in a hotel room in the Poconos region. A criminal complaint states that investigators found two knives with teal green handles on the scene, a type of handle that Great Wolf staff confirmed the lodge does not keep.

Devine, whose firm is based in the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania, said the specific details of the case point toward a planned attack. He noted that the family lived in Towanda, Pennsylvania, approximately 100 miles northwest of the resort. Devine observed that numerous other lodges exist in the mountains between their home and the location of the crime, questioning why Harrison selected that specific establishment for a three-week stay. He stated that from the publicly available file, certain elements of premeditation appear to be met.
Harrison's stepmother told Fox News Digital that the suspect may have drained the family's 401(k) account before the trip. The family had resided in a modest home in Towanda. Autopsies for both victims were being conducted following the discovery of the bodies on Monday. The stepmother also described the killings as appearing to be "preplanned." Various news outlets reported that Harrison had allegedly expressed resentment toward her own son and wanted more alone time with her husband.
WNEP reported that the family told investigators Harrison was dominant, controlling, and had isolated them from her husband's family for the last three years. Devine said he has experience working with convicted killers and homicide suspects and identified the alleged financial maneuvering and the nature of the weapons as key factors. He added that there are many moving parts investigators will be examining.
Harrison is currently held in a Monroe County jail cell. Her next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 21. Chaz's sister shared an update on a GoFundMe page, stating that her brother's love for his wife and child was profound and was the reason they lost their lives. She said she was not there to say anything bad about his wife and believed her brother would not want her to do so.
