US spot XRP exchange-traded funds recorded $110.49 million in net inflows during the week ending August 28, marking the strongest weekly performance for the assets in 2026. Crypto analyst Ali Charts stated on X that XRP ($XRP) has cleared a descending resistance line on its one-hour chart, identifying the token's previous high of $1.70 as the next price target.
The technical call coincides with a significant surge in demand for the ETFs, which more than doubled the previous weekly high of approximately $60.5 million set in May. SoSoValue data, reported by BeInCrypto, showed the latest inflows pushed cumulative net inflows to roughly $1.66 billion. The funds' combined net assets reached $1.44 billion, while weekly trading volume climbed to $363.03 million, the highest level since the XRP funds launched.
Despite the strong institutional inflows, XRP remains under pressure across longer timeframes. The token traded near $1.38 at the time of reporting, down approximately 0.78% over the previous 24 hours and around 7% over the past week. CoinMarketCap identified rotation away from altcoins as the primary driver of this weakness, noting that investors moved toward Bitcoin following hawkish signals from Federal Reserve officials. The platform's Altcoin Season Index dropped 7.69% over 24 hours to 24, placing the market in "Bitcoin Season," while Bitcoin dominance rose to 59.73%.
Ali Charts noted that XRP had previously risen 71.8% from $0.988 to $1.698 before entering a correction of approximately 20%. He highlighted support between $1.35 and $1.38 as a critical level; if that support holds, he identified $1.60 and $1.68 as the next resistance levels. Approximately 1.99 billion and 1.98 billion XRP were previously traded around those respective prices. A more substantial barrier exists at $1.86, where around 3.47 billion XRP were previously traded. Ali suggested that a decisive break above $1.86 could open a path toward $2.19.
CoinMarketCap described XRP's immediate outlook as neutral to bearish, with technical consolidation and profit-taking after the recent rally weighing on the token. The platform indicated that holding above the $1.35 level could support a recovery toward $1.45 to $1.50 before the higher $1.70 target returns to view.
