Tom Lee Projects Ethereum at $6,000 if Bitcoin Hits $150,000
Fundstrat's Tom Lee argues that Ethereum (CRYPTO: $ETH) remains "vastly undervalued" despite a recent rebound, projecting the token could reach $6,000 if Bitcoin (CRYPTO: $BTC) climbs to $150,000. Lee bases this scenario on a shift in the ETH-to-Bitcoin ratio, which he believes has room to expand significantly from current levels.
Lee characterized Ethereum's move from approximately $1,900 to $2,500 over the past week as a "course correction" rather than a short squeeze. He noted that while crypto fundamentals are improving, current valuations still reflect conditions akin to a prolonged bear market. His framework centers on the ETH/BTC ratio, with a move to 0.04 implying an Ethereum price near $6,000 if Bitcoin reaches $150,000. A return toward 0.08, a level seen near the 2021 cycle highs, would suggest substantially greater upside.
The thesis extends to Ethereum's role in a financial system moving further onchain. Lee pointed to the expansion of tokenized assets across Wall Street, the wider adoption of stablecoins, and the potential for AI agents to drive demand for programmable payment and settlement rails. He argued that traditional financial infrastructure was designed for humans rather than software agents making instant transactions, positioning public blockchains to handle a growing share of automated financial activity.
This perspective aligns with Lee's position as chairman of BitMine Immersion Technologies (NYSE: $BMNR), which has assembled one of the largest corporate Ethereum treasuries. The company currently holds more than $14 billion worth of ETH and is targeting ownership of 5% of the network's total supply.
While Ethereum's recent rebound has narrowed the gap against Bitcoin, Lee's $6,000 projection depends on both assets moving materially higher. Bitcoin would need to nearly double from current levels, and ETH would have to regain relative strength that has been absent for much of the current cycle. At the time of reporting, Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) was trading at $2,432.38 U.S. per token, down 3.15% on the day.
